From the President:
The Board of Directors for 2011 would like to thank you for making this year’s tournament one of the most enjoyable tournaments of the year. Again, the LORD blessed us with beautiful weather and even though the lake was extremely low, there was very little damage to boats and to our knowledge, no injuries. We would like to thank all of our sponsors for their tremendous support again this year. Through your participation and the generous contributions from our sponsors, the Rayburn Oilmen’s Classic was able to donate $30,000.00 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This is a milestone and a privalege for the ROC to support an organization that is dedicated to helping those that can not help themselves.
Special thanks go to HB Rental for the donation of the “pirouque” which was raffled off and brought in a total of $2000.00 dollars which was given to Ms. Ashlynn Dunn, the young girl who continues to have treatment for “Shaken Baby Syndrome”. Please keep Ashlynn in your thoughts and prayers.
Congratulations to the 2011 champions, Donald Randall and Paul Wilson, with a total weight of 31.62#’s. Mr. Randal is a repeat champion and almost mirrored his weight for last year, coming up one pound short of his 2010 winning weight. Great job guys! Congratulations are also in order for Mr. Keith Roberts who caught the “Big Bass” for 2011, weighing in at 7.26 pounds.
Special thanks go to Evans Rental for donating the Championship Rods for the 2011 Champions, Mr. Wayne Davis of Wayne’s Custom Rods for donating a custom made rod to the big bass winner, Phoenix Boats for bringing their boats for display, demo rides, and the generous donations of the gift certificates to the winners. We are looking forward to having Phoenix back next year with even more of their boats for our participants to choose from. Thanks to Elite Communications, Suncoast Fuels, FasTorq, HB Rentals, and IB Services who without their support would make this tournament almost impossible to have. Vernon Green, Jim Farr and their team do so much for the ROC each year and they deserve a special “THANK YOU” from all of us who enjoy fishing this tournament.
Next year’s tournament is scheduled for October 12th and 13th, with registration held on the 11th at the Umphrey Family Pavilion. Please go online to http://rayburnoilmensclassi.org and print a copy of the entry form and the sponsorship form and get your entry in early this year.
