Fellow fishermen and co-workers, the 2009 ROC is behind us and we are looking forward to a great tournament in 2010. I can’t remember a year when everything (weather not included) went so smoothly. The Board of Directors wants to thank each of our sponsors and participants for your support.
Even though we are experiencing a down market and our industry is taking a severe beating this year, you proved once again that the oilfield people stick together through think and thin. Your participation will make it possible for the ROC to make a sizeable donation again this year to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. You should know that through your support, you will be helping a child or maybe several children who are suffering from cancer. Most are too young to realize what is happening to them, but I assure you the parents of these little ones know and appreciate your support. You are the answer to many of their prayers. Congratulations to the 2009 Champions, Mr. Johnny Jones and Mr. Ronnie Mundy with a total weight of 34.10 pounds for the two day event. We would also like to congratulate Mr. Melvin Henslee, Champion of the Big Bass of the tournament with a catch of an 8.67 pound lunker. Great job guys!
At the risk of being repetitious, thank you again for all of your support and I am looking forward to seeing you all back next year. Remember, sign up by August 15th of 2010 and be eligible to win a $500.00 gift certificate from Bass Pro. This is a contest and incentive to get you to get your entry in early next year in order for the board to be able to know how much funds we have for the purpose of payouts and our donation to St. Jude’s. Please don’t wait on your invitation in the mail, go online and print the entry form out, complete it with your payment information, and mail it to Glenda Alexander, at the address shown on the form.
