The ROC Board of Directors continually strive to improve the Rayburn Oilmen’s Classic experience. This event remains an oil and gas event with deep roots in the industry so we must maintain a certain level of eligibility requirements for our participants. However, we feel there is room for more. Now, the door has been opened for you as an oil and gas employee to team up with your trusted fishing partner, your best friend, your co-worker, your spouse, your child or grandchild. We want to increase participation in the tournament and the amount of the donation to our supported charity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please review the Eligibility requirements below, find your partner, get registered, read the rules and join us in October for two days of fishing, being outdoors, great food, door prizes and networking!!
ELIGIBILITY: The Rayburn Oilmen’s Classic fishing tournament is a team tournament. A “Team” is comprised of a Captain and a Co-Angler. ELIGIBLE CAPTAIN: Any person whose annual income is derived from being employed in the upstream, midstream, downstream or service sectors of the oil and gas industry. Any person now retired or laid off who was actively engaged in the upstream, midstream, downstream or service sectors of the oil and gas industry is eligible to be a CAPTAIN. ELIGIBLE CO-ANGLER: Any person chosen by the CAPTAIN, irrespective of that person’s profession, source of income, relation or age. Both CAPTAIN and CO-ANGLER must follow Texas Parks and Wildlife safe boating practices. Anyone who has paid a $750 entry fee or more to an individual tournament in the 12 months prior to the tournament date is not eligible to compete. Anyone who has served as a professional guide on Sam Rayburn in the 12 months prior to the tournament date is not eligible to compete. Participants must have a valid Texas fishing license. All entries will be reviewed by the President and/or Tournament Director and eligibility will be determined at that time. Their ruling will be final.
